Recently saw this ieatishootipost about this god-like hainanese curry rice at Tiong Bahru. Seems like beh pai so jio my kaki go there try.
Wah piang, the queue machiam like buy toto 12mil. But see the review he talk till machiam one life steam one kind so need to perservere. Under the hot sun somemore. Saw one ah pek in front stand like Leaning Tower of Pisa, so ask him go relac one corner i queue for him. If not later up lorry go see Ah Ba.
Queued for 30mins finally my turn. Ordered their signature pork chop, Chap Chye and Fried Egg. And also loads of curry machiam the rice kana bukkake till no white color. Ah pek I order for him Curry Sotong, Lor Bak and Cabbage. Dont want be bias cause is reviewed by ieatishotipose, but the dishes definitely is above average. Maybe cause got human traffic so all is cooked immediate and served. So is still fresh and hot. Taste wise not sibei gan fantastical but more of a homely kind of feel. The curry I feel is abit watered down as compared to the Beach Rd one. So lacks a kick to a face.
Overall still ok ok la. If you wan decent hainanese curry rice with fresh dishes and also to dine in one of those old traditional kopitiam. Their pork chop can try as it is really crispy on outside and inside is pipping hot with steam coming out with every bite. Juicy and tender meat also.
